It’s that time of year again — time for another article about the sad state of how early the “holidays” start (if so inclined, you can go to Fox News heree; Pottsville Republican here; and CNN.com has a whole section about it) . I have read articles from the local news to major media with the same message: the “holiday” season starts too early.
I might be the only one — but I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion that the holidays start too early.

..make birthdays and holidays as special for my son as they were for me. As we sit between his real first birthday, his birthday party (fake first birthday), and Easter, I am thinking back to the excitement I had on Sunday morning coming down the steps to a basket of chocolate and toys…and of course the instant dread of knowing it also meant going to church was just around the corner, so the bounty delivered by Peter Cottontail would have to wait.
