Mabel’s Labels

I won’t tell her, but my wife was the one who found these labels — although it was by way of her sister. Anyway, our neighbors to the north got something right — Mabel’s Labels are awesome. At first, I wasn’t in love with them because I found them to be on the dull side — I wanted labels that had multicolored designs and funky shapes that made the boy seem like he was going to be an artistic genius. However, I have come to appreciate their durability as well as their design. Even after multiple bottle washes, the labels have More >

I’m not a tree hugger. I’m not a hippie. I’m not in love with the organic movement, but as noted in the prior post, I think BabyGanics Dish Dazzler helps make washing bottles a little less miserable. I like it for two reasons: it foams and it doesn’t leave a film like most soaps. If you have ever washed a coffeepot and think you got all the soap out only to find colorful bubbles in your coffee the next day — you know what I mean. A couple shots of this stuff into his bottle, and with a Munchkin Deluxe Brush, More >

Cleaning bottles is not fun. If you think it is — well, good for you. Two things have made life easier and The Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Brush is one of them (orange one in the pic). Although the Bottle and Nipple Brush is good (green one), I like the Deluxe version better simply for the suction cup base — you can set it down without resting it on the counter and presumably in germs.

The Deluxe Bottle Brush is a great concept because the brush easily fits into all bottle sizes and is big enough to reach the sides of the bottle with More >

Bluecoat Gin

Simply stated — I love this gin. I originally bought it on a recommendation from a friend and have kept it as my house gin ever since. It is one of three offerings from The Philadelphia Distilling Company (I will cover the other two products at a later date). It is extremely smooth and very reasonably priced (around the same price point as your Bombays and Tanquerays).

This is a small batch gin done in a hand-hammered copper pot still. It can be enjoyed in a martini or with tonic. Either way, I can guarantee you will enjoy it.

Ardmore Highland Single Malt – Traditional Cask

This is a delicious single malt made by the Admore Distillery.  The palate is very peaty and as Ardmore suggests, really opens up with just a touch of water. Overall, it is something I will look to buy again
