IKEA SNIGLAR Crib Recall

IKEA is recalling its SNIGLAR cribs due to the potential for the mattress supports to collapse. You can get more information on this recall here at CPSC.gov.
Please note that this is NOT a drop-side crib. Also, since I have reviewed and still recommend the MAMMUT crib — this DOES NOT include the MAMMUT Crib. The MAMMUT crib has not been recalled to date and I still think it is a fantastic crib.

Infant Car Seat Recall

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall today for the Britax Chaperone Infant car seats
The issue, pulled directly from the release: The harness chest clip can break and pose a laceration hazard. Due to its small size it also poses a choking hazard.
Another Fisher-Price Recall

Abbott Voluntarily Recalls Certain Similac® Brand Powder Infant Formulas

From the Abbot Press Release: Abbott Park, Illinois (NYSE: ABT) — Abbott is initiating a proactive, voluntary recall of certain Similac-brand, powder infant formulas in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and some countries in the Caribbean.
Abbott is recalling these products following an internal quality review, which detected the remote possibility of the presence of a small common beetle in the product produced in one production area in a single manufacturing facility. Zooper Tango Double Stroller Recall

The CPSC has issued a recall for the Zooper Tango Double Stroller made by Lan Enterprises. According to the release (linked above), the hazard is that the stroller’s frame latch above the front wheels can fail when the stroller hits an object, causing the stroller to unexpectedly collapse.
Sold at: Juvenile product and mass merchandise retailers nationwide and at www.babiesrus.com from January 2007 through August 2008 for between $400 and $430.
Wireless Video Baby Monitor Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall notice for Levana Wireless Video Baby Monitors due to overheating concerns. The overheating poses smoke and possible burn hazards. According to the recall, they were sold at: “BB Buggy and Health and Safety stores nationwide and on the Internet between February 2010 and May 2010 for about $200″.
Pacifier Recall

The CPSC has issued a pacifier recall by Antonio Flores due to choking hazard. The scary part about this recall is the first issue listed for “Hazard:” is: “The pacifier fails to meet federal safety standards.”
