As we all know, the work-life balance is difficult at best. My current viewpoint is simple — with the exception of certain professions — the idea of neglecting family for the sake of work is driven by the wants and needs of others answering the WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?) question. As workers, we live in a self correcting eco-system. Layer after layer of management keep the layer below in check.
