Realizing I Know Nothing
IKEA SNIGLAR Crib Recall
IKEA is recalling its SNIGLAR cribs due to the potential for the mattress supports to collapse. You can get more information on this recall here at CPSC.gov.
Please note that this is NOT a drop-side crib. Also, since I have reviewed and still recommend the MAMMUT crib — this DOES NOT include the MAMMUT Crib. The MAMMUT crib has not been recalled to date and I still think it is a fantastic crib.
From the recall itself: “Consumers should stop using the crib immediately and check the crib. If the mattress support bolts extend through the nut, the bolts are the proper length and the crib is not included in the recall. If the bolt does not extend through the nut, the crib is included in the recall. Contact IKEA for a free repair kit for recalled cribs. In the meantime, find an alternate, safe sleep environment for the child, such as a bassinet, play yard or toddler bed depending on the child’s age.”
