Realizing I Know Nothing
T-shirt Head Holes
Early on, our son was in the 90th percentile for head circumference. I blurted out “baby big gourd” at which the wifey (pronounced whiffy — like a whiff in baseball or “Man, get a whiff of this!) gave me a quick slap to the arm. The pediatrician, not missing a beat, replied that he did in fact have a “big gourd”. But I digress…
Now, he sits in the middle around the 50th percentile — so about average. Now…why is it so hard to get a shirt over his head? He will be one within the week and is in 12 months clothes that fit properly. Would it be that hard to give a little extra space to fit his head? Every time I have to pull a shirt over his head I feel like his ears aren’t going to make the trip — and by his demeanor on arrival, I don’t think he is in love with it either. Some of them have little buttons on the side, which are useful — but why not just add a little extra room? Most t-shirts I buy as an adult seem to have enough head room for me and another person — and I am the reason he is destined to have the big gourd.
Here’s to hoping he stays in the 50th percentile…
